When searching for accommodation in our mountains, you often come across crowded hotels, impersonal or old-fashioned guesthouses. However, if you want a holiday where you feel at home while enjoying premium hotel comfort, you should consider several important factors. Here is our checklist for your ideal stay in the High Tatras.

1. Private and Secure Parking. Parking in the Tatras is expensive and often complicated. Choose accommodation that has its own garage parking space. This protects your car from hail in summer, snow in winter, and increases the overall security of your holiday.

2. Functional Layout. Two Toilets might seem like a detail until you go on holiday as a family (2 adults + 2 children). Two toilets in an apartment dramatically increase comfort and privacy, which is a premium feature for this category of accommodation in Slovakia. The ability to cook your own food or prepare a snack for a hike saves not only money but also time. Add to that a cosy furnishing, a separate bedroom and a full kitchen, and you've won.

3. Complete Equipment and WiFi. A good apartment must be "ready-to-live." A fully furnished apartment includes everything from kitchenware to all kinds of necessary appliances, including a washing machine. Even if you are just relaxing, free WiFi is a necessity today. A stable internet connection is essential today for sharing experiences from the Štrbské Pleso area or for planning a route to peaks such as Kriváň or Rysy.

4. A Location That Heals. Look for places where a quiet location is a priority. After a whole day of cycling, hiking, skiing or visiting caves or nearby cities, your body deserves silence. A bonus is having a mountain view directly from your bedroom, to give you energy right after waking up.

5. Accessibility of Activities. Choose a place where everything is close by. From Tatranská Štrba, you are just a few minutes from skiing, hiking trails, or the highway that connects you to the rest of the country.
